Meringue Recipe – Sweet Cookie Topping – Video
Meringue is a multi-purpose thing which can be used like a fruit jam or a ketchup. It is primarily used with cakes, fruits or as a topping for cookies.
- 115 Gms Powder Sugar (Very fine Confectioner Sugar or Powder Sugar)
- 2 Number Eggs
- We do not need Egg yolk Yellow portion for this recipe. Hence, we need to carefully separate the Egg Yolk from Egg White. Make sure that no egg yolk is dropped in the mixture as it may play a spoilsport in the recipe.
- Take a bowl. We will use a simple method of filtering using the egg shell to separate the egg yolk.
- Break the egg shell and carefully, roll over the egg yolk in the egg shell while dropping the egg white in the bowl. This method will slowly filter out egg white in the bowl and egg yolk will be left behind in the shell.
- Now, whisk the Egg white with a hand blender for 1 minute to make a foamy paste.
- After 1 min. of whisk, it will form a good foamy lather.
- Add Sugar gradually over the total whisking time of 10 minutes.
- The identification for the completeness of Meringue is the lather peak that it would form. We can measure the peak using the beater’s sticks.
- After about 8 minutes, you can see a good amount of lather staying on the sticks i.e. making peaks.
- After total 10 minutes, of whisking the paste, you can see good lather staying/holding itself on the sticks. Meringue is now ready.
- You can now use Meringue with Fruits, Cakes, Cookies, buns etc. Its simple. isn’t it?.
- Meringue on Cookies is one of the Kid’s favorite dish. You can use any type of cookie and garnish it with Meringue.
- Top it on any cookie and you can also use fruit jam to make it colorful.
- Delicious Meringue Cookies are ready for your little Angels. You can also add crushed nuts. I hope they will enjoy it.
