Lemon Soda is a drink which helps your acidity to cool down and give your fried food a chill. Apart from getting relief in Acidity, the other benefit that we can derive is the chilling effect in hot summer days.
If you have grown up in north India, then you probably know it by the name of ‘Lemon Soda’ or ‘Banta’.
Remember the green colored soda bottle which has a small ball at the top of its head? The ball needs to be kicked off to release soda. This soda drink is known as ‘Banta’ in street language.
The ‘Banta’ or Lemon soda vendor stalls are found in almost all markets in Delhi. It is a delight to have it while shopping around. I would say that drinking Lemon soda is much better than any other sweet colas.
We are going to make Lemon soda with plain SODA water (carbonized water) available easily in pet bottles in market.

Yield: 1 Glass of Refreshing Lemon Soda
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) Soda Water (Liquid Soda/Carbonized water)
- 1/4 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) normal plain water
- 1/2 Lemon (Or Lemon juice)
- 1/4 Tsp Black Salt
- 1-1/2 Tsp Sugar
- 1/4 Tsp Roasted Cumin Seed Powder
Method:
Take a serving glass and add Sugar with normal plain water.You can use a spoon to roll water and dissolve Sugar. | |
Now add roasted Cumin Powder and Black Salt.Mix well. | |
After mixing it well, squeeze Lemon. If you have ready made lemon juice, you can add it now.Mix well again. | |
Add the Soda Water. Mix well. | |
The Lemon Soda is ready to serve. Remember that it should be served immediately after adding Soda water else the drink will loose its carbon dioxide i.e. the gas. | |
